It appears they had a similar problem as we did in ramming the top of the gables. Their elegant solution was to infill with timber. Also, note the arched window.

The earth walls are 350mm thick everywhere (gable ends too) except the arched window wall which is 500mm thick and 5.5m high. Concrete bond beam. solid macrocarpa joinery. Terracotta skirting tiling, full wet area bathroom(ceramic), all timber treated with Organoil Natural oil finishes. |
